The Opportunity – Junior Solicitor Brisbane (Family Law)
We are currently seeking a motivated Junior Solicitor with 1+ years’ post‑admission experience (family law preferred) to join our Brisbane CBD office.
Working closely with experienced Senior Lawyers and Principals, you will be exposed to a broad range of family law matters, gain hands‑on advocacy experience, and continue building a strong foundation in family law practice. This opportunity is ideal for a Junior Solicitor Brisbane‑based practitioner seeking long‑term career progression in family law.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist Senior Lawyers in the management and progression of family law matters
- Draft legal documents including affidavits, applications, correspondence, and briefs
- Conduct legal research and prepare advice on family law issues
- Support preparation for court appearances, mediations, and hearings
- Communicate professionally with clients, counsel, courts, and external parties
- Contribute to case strategy and risk assessment
- Maintain accurate file management and compliance with firm policies and the Code of Conduct
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development
- Build strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders
About You
- Minimum 1 year post‑admission experience (family law experience preferred)
- Admitted to practice in Australia with a Bachelor of Laws (or equivalent)
- Previous experience as a Paralegal, Law Clerk, or Legal Assistant (highly regarded)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail and time‑management abilities
- Ability to work autonomously while being receptive to mentoring and feedback
- Professional, ethical, and client‑focused approach
- Passion for family law and long‑term career development
